Detailed Itinerary For 6 days  self drive Uganda Tour

Day 1 – Drive to Kibale National Park

picked up your car from your Hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport and our guide will brief you about your rental car and later on depart for Kibale Forest National Park which will take you about 5 to 6 hours to drive to Kibale Forest National Park, reaching in time for lunch.

Day 2 – Chimp Tracking & Bigodi Swamp walk.

On day 2 of your 6 days self-drive Uganda Tour, you will have breakfast in the morning and proceed to the Kanyanchu Visitors centre for Chimpanzee tracking briefing about the do’s and don’t s. From here, you will drive shortly to the point where chimpanzee trekking Begins.

Chimpanzee tracking lasts for about 2 to 6 hours, depending on how far the chimpanzees have moved from their previous location where they were spotted with a must 1 hour of being up close with them.

You will return to the lodge for lunch after which you will head out on the Bigodi Swamp walk which will take about 2-3 hours to walk through the swamp.

This is a guided swamp walk that leads you closer to primates mostly monkeys, birds and butterflies. The wetland is a bird haven with about 138 species and is popularly known for being home to the Great Blue Turaco.

This 2.5 – 3 hour walk is best for bird lovers but requires good walking shoes. Chances are high that you might spot the enormous Sitatunga antelope and the Shoebill Stork. You will spot some of the primates here, even a chimpanzee at times. Other primate species include the black-and-white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed, Holst’s and blue monkeys, olive baboons as well as Bushbucks and mongooses etc. The forest also has many butterflies.

Day 3 -Drive To Bwindi Impenetrable National: Park Through the Isasha sector

Today you will wake up early for breakfast and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing via the Isasha sector, where you might spot the tree climbing Lions with en-route lunch at kihihi town. You will proceed then to Bwindi’s Rushaga sector for gorilla trekking. Check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorilla Trekking) to Lake Bunyonyi.

4x4 self drive uganda safarisOn these days, you will drive early to the Park headquarters for briefing, after your morning breakfast.  During the briefing, you will be taught about the regulations of trekking gorillas, allocated a family to track, and a group of other trekkers with whom you will trek the mountain gorillas.

After here, with an experienced ranger guide, you will trek through the forest to look for the gorillas for approximately 2-8 hours. When you find them, you will stay with the gorillas for about at most 1 hour, after then you will return to the headquarters for your gorilla trekking certificate. Return to your Lodge for lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Arrive at the lodge for Dinner for an Overnight stay.

Day 5 – Lake Bunyonyi

Day 6: Lake Bunyonyi To Kampala

The final day of your adventure in Uganda will begin early in the morning. Have a quick breakfast, then drive towards Kampala (or Entebbe International Airport with an en-route stop over at the equator.
