Uganda lies on the equator, Northwest of Tanzania, west of Kenya, North of Rwanda and East of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is one of the small countries in East Africa but the country possesses striking diversity of sceneries – from snow-capped mountains and savannah to jungly swampland and impenetrable forests.
Its distant, preserved parks teem with wildlife such as Africa’s big 5 such as lions, elephants, Rhinos buffalo, primates like Mountain Gorillas, and over a thousand species of birds. The preserved parks include Queen Elizabeth National park, Murchison National park, Kibale national park, Kidepo Valley National park, Bwindi Impenetrable National park and many others.
Uganda and Rwanda, have a distinctive responsibility of conserving a population of critically endangered mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, funded in no small part through the trekking fees exact on visiting guests.
