Though some tourists opt for self-drive safaris, most of the time is saved when you hire a car with a driver, especially when the car breakdown or gets a problem along the way since most of our drivers are equipped with skills for operating the car when a minor problem occurs. You only need to advise him on all your desired destinations and he will drive to all the destinations.

We always endorse car hire with a driver at least for the first five days to familiarize ourselves with how to navigate through the traffic, and how to best drive on the rough roads in Uganda. You can also consider some of the reasons below why you should hire a car with a driver.

Car rental with a driver is influenced by the number of countries you are intending to visit in East Africa. For instance, in case of contemplating car hire with a driver in Uganda, you are likely to part with US$40 per day to cover the driver’s wage, accommodation and meals, the same price also applies in Rwanda. However, in case, the driver is driving you in at least three countries, he is likely to charge you US$50 per day due to different meals and accommodation rates in the different countries.

It is preferable to hire a car with boundless mileage to explore the whole of East Africa to the core without any limitations on the number of kilometers you have at your disposal. With a driver guide, you will be directed on which roads are passable and the shortcuts therein.

UGANDA.

We have over 10 rental locations in Uganda Places where you can pick up and drop off the car after your safari. However, some rental locations are free of charge while others compel you to cover the fuel and driver expenses.

Some of the free locations include Kampala, Entebbe, and Mukono, while extra charged pick-up locations include Kabale, Murchison falls, Masindi, Kisoro, Jinja, Mbale, Kidepo, Fort portal, and Kibale among several other local rental locations.

In Uganda, you will likely not exceed US$150 to have the car delivered to or from any desired location within the country. However, the beauty of hiring a car with a driver, you can finish up your trip in any preferred location and let the driver bring the car back to the office. In this regard, you will only need to cover the fuel to bring the car back to our premises and the wage for the driver.

Kenya, Tanzania, and Burundi Hire with Driver

We endorse prior booking of at least one month to schedule a driver guide in Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi.

Even though most of the guides in East Africa are English speaking, there are special arrangements for Spanish, German, Dutch, French and Chinese guides. The guides usually range from US$60 to US$200 per day depending on the Language. For instance, Chinese-speaking professional guides can charge up to US$150 per day while German-speaking professional guides can charge up to US$120 per day.

These rates typically cover their meals, wage and accommodation. However, there are tour operators too who specialize in specific languages. For example, companies specialize in German safaris in Tanzania, Dutch safaris in Uganda, and French safaris in Kenya among other international languages.
