The 10-day Uganda Self drive Safari takes you gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Golden monkey tracking in Mgahinga Forest National Park, game drives and boat cruises at Queen Elizabeth National Park, Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale Forest National park, and Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino tracking from wildlife viewing at Murchison Falls National Park.
Detailed Itinerary of the 10 Days Uganda Self-drive Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Arrive at Entebbe and drive from the Airport or Your Hotel by our specialized guide to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park with a stopover for a lunch break at the Equator. Arrive in the evening at your perfect lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Golden Monkey & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
In the morning, enter the jungle in search of the Golden Monkeys, this is another experience. Just like Gorillas, Golden monkeys are also endangered. Enjoy their unique colour; by jumping around the tree tops. Trekking may take about 1-6 hours including 1 hour of face-to-face contact with them. Return to the park headquarters for lunch and head to kisoro and check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking experience
In the morning, you will have breakfast. With enough plus good gear including water, jacket, camera, and a packed lunch, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Headquarters for a briefing about the various gorilla families. The hike depends on the movement of apes and may take about 2-8 hours including a full hour in the presence of the gorillas. After this magnificent experience, return to the headquarters to pick up your certificate and drive back to your hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth through Ishasha Sector where you might encounter tree-climbing lions. Dinner and Overnight stay at Kisoro Travelers Hotel.
Day 5: Game drive and Boat Cruise(Kazinga channel).
Rise early for breakfast and depart for a game drive around the Kasenyi area of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Hope to catch up with the animals in their morning routines – such as elephants, lions, warthogs, and antelopes among others. Return to the lodge for lunch, and then go for a boat cruise at Kazinga channel, expect to see elephants, birds, and Buffaloes as they take water by the lake shores. Dinner and overnight stay at Bush Lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Wetland walk.
Today depart Queen Elizabeth Park and drive to Kibale Forest National park. Today you will do the Bigodi swamps walk in the afternoon. This is home to 200 species of birds and butterflies plus eight different species of monkeys including the grey-cheeked Mangabey. Dinner and Overnight at your perfect lodge.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Habituation in Kibale Forest National Park.
Head for chimpanzee Habituation at Kibale Forest National Park. This activity starts very early in the morning, Enjoy them from when they wake until evening. Along the way, you might encounter other species such as monkeys, and birds among others. After returning to your Lodge for your Dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.
Today you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will drive passed many tea plantations and other crops grown on a large scale in Fort portal, Lunch Enroute. Dinner and Overnight at your favourite lodge.
Day 9: Game drive and Boat Cruise.
This morning you will go for a game drive in the Murchison falls national park. This is home to lions, elephants, antelopes the Uganda kob among others. After Lunch, go for a launch trip where you will spot hippos, elephants and Pink-packed Pelicans birds! Dinner and Overnight at your lodge.
Day 10: Rhino Tracking and transfer Kampala/ Entebbe to your hotel.
In the morning after breakfast, drive to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking before heading to Entebbe at your hotel or catch up with your scheduled flight.
